Self-Isolation Loungewear

With all the uncertainty in the world stress and anxiety have definitely been heightened, therefore I decided to distract myself with something a bit more positive. For this blog post, I will be reviewing 3 different brands loungewear as this is what most people will be wearing giving the current situation we are all in. As I am doing self isolation myself, all 3 of these brands are online. The brands that I have reviewed include Pretty Little Thing, I Saw It First and Missguided.

The first loungewear Pretty Little Thing – Fawn Double Side Stripe Jogger £10

The first loungewear item that I purchased was a pair of double side stripe joggers from Pretty Little Thing. I have always heard great things about pretty little things joggers so I knew for sure that I was definitely going to try theirs for this blog, and they certainly did not disappoint. These joggers are so comfy and fitted me perfectly, especially length wise. I did stick to getting a size 8 rather than upsizes to a size 10 as joggers are quite naturally oversized. At the time when I purchased these joggers, the website was doing a 25% discount code, I got these joggers for only £9. The quality of these joggers are amazing especially considering how affordable they were and I am certainly temped to order more in different colours of this style.

Loungewear 2 I Saw It First- Baby pink rhinestone angel joggers £14

The second loungewear item I purchased was these baby pink rhinestone angel joggers from I Saw It First. I purchased these joggers because I genuinely just loved the whole aesthetic of these. The baby pink and the rhinestone angel on the back was really giving me bratz vibes and I was absolutely loving it. When I tried the joggers on, I did find them very comfy, however the material of these are definitely not as thick and cosy as the pretty little thing joggers but still very good quality. I got a size small in these joggers and they fitted me perfectly and I am normally a size 8. I saw it first also often do extra off discount codes their sale items for students so I would definitely check student beans or unidays first before purchasing.

loungewear 3 Missguided- Green Oversized Missguided 90s Joggers £20 and Green Missguided Racer Back Crop Vest Top £6

The last loungewear items that I bought was green oversized joggers and a green racer back crop vest top, both from missguided. As missguided was offering their customers 25% off, I managed to get this set for only £19.50. The colour of this set is beautiful and vibrant, however the top is slightly a different colour to the joggers, however I do think that is because their a different material but they do still go very well. These joggers were by far my favourite. I just loved the colour and the material made the joggers really thick, cosy and comfortable. However I would maybe size down as the joggers are very oversized.

Missguided also offer great discount on their website and for students, for example they currently have 20% off everything (excluding sale) for all their customers.

All these websites also offer Klarna as a payment method, which allows you to either buy now and pay later or pay for your products in 3 monthly instalments.

“Concert Outfit”

As I had a concert at the beginning of this month, I was looking all over stores and online for the perfect outfit. For my outfit, I was trying to find something that was stylish, simple and most importantly comfy. While looking online, I discovered this beautiful baby blue Utility Pocket Zip Playsuit from Rebellious Fashion. the playsuit was exactly everything that I was looking for. It was stretchy and extremely comfy which made it perfect for all the moving about I was going to be doing at this concert . The belt was a lovely detail added to the playsuit which helped to add shape by cinching in my waist.

This playsuit will also be perfect for in summer, with a pair of trainers for a more casual vibe, or even a pair of sandals to dress it up.

I have only recently started shopping on Rebellious Fashion and its now one of my favourites. their products are so stylish, fantastic quality and extremely affordable, which as a student is very ideal. this playsuit is currently on sale for £4.49!!!!

Absolutely love this playsuit and will 100% be rewearing this.

Mesh Mesh Mesh

Before I start this blog post, I felt that it was important to talk about one of the biggest problems that is effecting the world today. On 25 of May, George Floyd died after a police officer kept his knee on his neck for almost 9 minutes. This type of abuse of power and racism as whole is still a problem in today society worldwide. Unlike fashion this is not a trend, this is an issue that we need to fight against, stand up and say that black lives matter then, now and in future. the world needs to change and there is so many ways that we can do to help. Down below is a link to a website that has a list of all the petitions you can sign to help. If you have taken the time to read this blog please take the time to sign these petitions.

With mesh clothing continuously being a trend, I decided to invest in some mesh tops that would look great dressed up or casual. The tops that i purchased are from Pretty Little Thing, Missguided and I Saw It First.

Missguided Black Dragon Print High Neck Mesh Bodysuit- £14.00

I absolutely love this bodysuit and have worn it several times since purchasing. The bodysuit can be dressed up or casually, for example it can be worn with a pair of joggers and chunky trainers or worn with leather trousers or even a black blazer two piece with a pair of heels. The contrast of the blue and black compliments the bodysuit so nicely and the high neck detail makes it so flattering. This bodysuit is sold out on misguided but I do know that Pretty Little Thing sell one exactly the same.

Pretty Little Thing Rose Renaissance Mesh Long Sleeve Crop Top- £12.00

The renaissance print is something that I have really been loving just now and I think it adds some elegance to this top. I wore a nude bra underneath the top and a pair of black joggers and I feel like it worked very well. This top would also look nice with a pair of light blue jeans. I’m a 32c bra size and a size 8 fits me perfectly.

I Saw It First Baby Pink Mesh Sleeveless Crop Top – £10.00

This top is by far my favourite out of all three. the white and pink make this top so girly and the oriental print just adds a lovely design to it. I wore a white strapless bra underneath. I got a size 10 in this one just because they were sold out of the size 8 and it still fitted me perfectly. I have worn this top with a pair of light blue denim mom jeans and they looked great together. this top is apart of the Sophia and Cinzia collection and they do sell a matching skirt which I think I will order so I can wear the set out when nightclubs eventually open again.

Introduce Yourself

hello, my name is Leia and I am currently studying Fashion Management at Robert Gordons University in Aberdeen. Fashion is something that I have always loved. To me fashion is a lot more than just about the clothes you wear, its a way of expressing who you are without using words.
